VIDEO: Greek defender scores screamer of an own goal in playoff with Romania

But they’re going to Brazil anyway.

GREECE HAVE QUALIFIED for next year’s World Cup finals with a 1-1 draw in their play-off second leg against Romania tonight for a 4-2 aggregate win.

Greece went into the return leg on the back of a comfortable 3-1 first leg victory, and made it 4-1 on aggregate when Konstaninos Mitroglou struck in the 23rd minute.

Romania pulled one back 10 minutes after the restart via an own goal from Vasilis Torosidis:

Greece, however, held on to book their passage to Brazil. The 2004 European champions will be appearing at their third World Cup after 1994 and 2010.
