The missile thrower in this case turned out to be Alexandre Perron — according to Le Journal de Montréal – who flung the can out of frustration at a penalty call the official had just made on his brother Francis during a Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game.

Le Journal also report that a man was arrested over the incident and, despite his injury, the referee was able to finish the game.
