THE FAI HAVE confirmed that Ireland will play the USA in a friendly on Tuesday November 18 at Lansdowne Road.
Manager Jürgen Klinsmann will take his USA squad to Dublin following their dramatic run at the 2014 World Cup, where they reached the knockout stages after beating Ghana and drawing with Portugal in Group G.
They ultimately lost to Belgium in the second round despite 16 saves from goalkeeper Tim Howard during the game and their swash-buckling style saw them win many admirers in this part of the world.
Ireland last played the US men’s national team in April 2002 when Gary Doherty and Mark Kinsella both scored in a 2-1 win.
The game will take place on November 18, four days after Ireland’s Euro 2016 qualifier with Scotland at Parkhead.
