Donegal stick with All-Ireland winning 15 for clash with Tyrone

Karl Lacey is set to make his first competitive appearance of 2013.

JIM MCGUINESS HAS named the starting fifteen that helped Donegal claim last September’s All-Ireland title for Sunday’s Ulster championship tie against Tyrone.

The eagerly-awaited provincial quarter-final is down for decision next Sunday afternoon in Ballybofey at 4pm.

Some key Donegal players have been battling injuries in recent weeks but Karl Lacey, Frank McGlynn and Mark McHugh have all nailed down spots in the starting side.

Lacey is set to make his first competitive appearance for the county since last year’s All-Ireland final win over Mayo in Croke Park after being sidelined since with a hip injury.

11 of the side that started Donegal’s last league tie against Dublin in April – a game that saw them draw and suffer relegation to Division 2 as a result – are named in the line-up for this battle with Tyrone.

Corner-back Paddy McGrath, full-back Neil McGee, centre-back Lacey and midfielder Neil Gallagher all come into the side.

DONEGAL: Paul Durcan (Four Masters); Paddy McGrath (Ardara), Neil McGee (Gweedore), Eamonn McGee (Gweedore); Anthony Thompson (Naomh Conaill), Karl Lacey (Four Masters), Frank McGlynn (Glenfin); Neil Gallagher (Glenswilly), Rory Kavanagh (St Eunan’s); Mark McHugh (Kilcar), Leo McLoone (Naomh Conaill), Ryan Bradley (Buncrana); Patrick McBrearty (Kilcar), Michael Murphy (Glenswilly), Colm McFadden (St Michael’s).
