Remember the lad who ripped up his All-Ireland ticket for his club? This is what happened next

John Dowling is an Ardfert hero.

JOHN DOWLING SACRIFICED his big day out at Croke Park last month for the good of his club.

Or so he thought.

The Ardfert man was offered €2,000 for his club if he ripped up his ticket to see the Kingdom take on Donegal in the championship decider.

He did but was relieved to hear he was going to the game anyway.

This is what the reaction’s been at home and what that few bob means to the north Kerry outfit. Fair dues.
