Title eliminator at UFC 192 called off after Johny Hendricks rushed to hospital

The American suffered a blockage in his intestine and kidney stone.

THE CO-MAIN EVENT of Saturday’s UFC 192 card in Houston has been called off after former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks was rushed to hospital.

UFC President Dana White confirmed the eagerly anticipated fight between Hendricks and Tyron Woodley was cancelled due to ‘weight cut issues’.

According to ESPN, Hendricks’ manager Ted Ehrhardt said the 32-year-old American suffered a blockage in his intestine and kidney stone and was rushed to ER last night.

The welterweight contender bout was due to be the headline act of tomorrow’s card at Houston’s Toyota Center and the timing of the news means no replacement for Hendricks will be sought.

The flyweight fight between Joseph Benavidez and Ali Bagautinov has been subsequently promoted from the prelims to the main card.
