THE CRUSHING WEIGHT of a nation’s pressure was on South Africa captain Jean de Villiers all week after that earth-shuddering result against Japan.
Yet the former Munster centre looked totally unencumbered when taking only the lightest touch of the ball before putting JP Pietersen in to ground his second try against Samoa today.
Willie Le Roux deserves credit too, drawing the defender out of the line before whipping the flat ball to De Villiers and the skipper used the minimum possible time to suck in the last man and put JPRP away.
Here’s the full match highlights. Watch out (at the 2.00 minute mark) for the excellent disallowed Samoa try that comes from a thrilling break from Tim Nanai Williams.
