Our 7-step guide to preparing for a Junior B county final

From almost staying off the beer to sticking Al Pacino on the DVD player.

YOU’VE DONE THE hard work. You’ve travelled the length and breadth of the county only to have games postponed because of a waterlogged pitch or the one auld lad with a key to the grounds can’t be found.

You’ve persevered though and eight games later you’re in a Junior B county final tomorrow.

Here are our tips for getting through the big day.

1. Keep your promise to the manager to stay off the beer by only having ‘one or two’ tonight

2. Pack all your gear tonight ‘just to be sure’, but leave the stinky boots outside

3. But make sure you don’t forget them and end up like this fella

4. Find room for a spare pair of these bad boys for the full forward who always forgets theirs

5. Slap this on the DVD player the morning of the game to get in the mood

6. Don’t forget to load up on carbs before kick-off
