THEIR EXPLOITS HAVE caught the eye so far in the Allianz hurling league and now the Kerry hurlers will be live on our TV screens next Sunday afternoon.
After Kerry claimed league promotion last spring, Ciaran Carey has seen his team claim a brilliant seven-point win over Laois in their opening Division 1B tie this season and then they followed that up by running Limerick close in their last game.
Now next Sunday, the TG4 cameras will broadcast their match with Wexford live from Austin Stack Park in Tralee for a game that throws in at 12.45pm.
It’s part of a double-header that is getting live TV coverage with the Kerry footballers facing Donegal afterwards at 2.30pm in a repeat of the 2014 All-Ireland senior final.
It will mark a rare televised game involving a Kerry hurling team. In recent years their U21 hurling side have regularly contested All-Ireland B championship finals, games which have been screened on TG4.
Last summer the Christy Ring Cup final was also broadcast live by TG4 with Kerry seeing off Derry by 1-20 to 0-12.
But next Sunday’s game still stands out as the most high-profile televised game involving the Kerry senior hurlers with Liam Dunne’s Wexford side travelling to the Kingdom.
