SINCE THE START of the 2009 season, the Kilkenny and Tipperary rivalry has dominated the modern hurling landscape.
Their 11 clashes during that time frame have included meetings in three All-Ireland finals, one All-Ireland semi-final and two National League finals.
The one constant has been the level of quality served up when the Cats and the Premier collide.
Little wonder then that the next chapter in their rivalry has generated so much anticipation as the sides get set to clash in Phase 2 of the All-Ireland senior hurling qualifiers next Saturday.
