GAA predict sellout for Kilkenny Tipperary hurling qualifier clash

Supporters have been urged to buy tickets in advance for next Saturday’s showdown.

GAA CHIEFS HAVE predicted a sellout for next Saturday’s glamour hurling qualifier clash between Kilkenny and Tipperary in Nowlan Park.

And they have urged supporters intending to attend the game to purchase their tickets for the game in advance.

The sides met in the recent Division 1 hurling league final with an attendance of 21, 447 present at the Noreside venue to observe Kilkenny’s triumph by 2-17 to 0-20.

The capacity in Nowlan Park was capped at 23,000 for that game and it is envisaged that there will be a full house for next Saturday’s tie in Phase 2 of the All-Ireland senior hurling championship.

The throw-in time at Nowlan Park has been confirmed for 7pm with tickets cost €20 for stand and €15 for terrace.

Children’s tickets cost either €5 or entry is free depending on the venue. Tickets are available from gaa.ie and from Tickets.ie outlets in selected SuperValu and Centra stores.

TV3 are set to broadcast live coverage of the battle between Brian Cody’s side seeking to bounce back from Saturday’s Leinster semi-final replay loss to Dublin and Eamon O’Shea’s side hoping to recover from their defeat to Limerick in their Munster semi-final clash.

Here’s what the GAA schedule looks like this week
