TIPPERARY’S MANAGEMENT TEAM has indicated that Lar Corbett is unlikely to play any part in the Premier’s Championship opener against Limerick on Sunday week.
The 31-year-old announced his decision to come out of his self-imposed exile on Sunday and will resume training with the Tipperary hurlers this week.
He had called it a day in February, citing work commitments as the reason.
Tipperary selector Michael Gleeson told GAA.ie that Corbett should not have any difficulty regaining his fitness, but that the game against the Treaty County will arrive just that bit too soon.

“He hasn’t been playing with the club and as you know we are playing on Sunday week against Limerick so realistically it is very unlikely that he will play any part in that game,” said Gleeson.
“But we are very fortunate and Lar is fortunate that he doesn’t put on weight easily and he won’t be long before he will be fit again. His first touch will come back quite quickly as well.
