AN EXTENSIVE DOCUMENTARY on concussion in the NFL is set to finally air tonight, six weeks after ESPN cut ties with the project.

‘League of Denial: The NFL’s Concussion Crisis,’ a two-hour Frontline investigation which has been more than 16 months in the making, premieres on PBS in America.

Last month the NFL settled lawsuits brought by 4,500 former players for brain injuries suffered on the field for a total of $765 million.

‘League of Denial’ promises an in-depth look at how the NFL has handled one of America’s biggest public health crises and claims that the league denied the alarming connection between concussion and brain injuries.

The documentary looked set to be shelved when ESPN withdrew from their collaboration with Frontline, citing disagreements about editorial control.

ESPN was subsequently forced to deny that the decision came about as a result of pressure from NFL bosses.
