As it happened: Hungary v Portugal, Iceland v Austria - Euro 2016

It’s crunch time for Ronaldo and Portugal in Group F of Euro 2016.

Good afternoon football fans and welcome along to our live coverage of the first helping of Euro 2016 action.

Before Ireland’s fate is decided in Lille later, Cristiano Ronaldo and Portugal will look to secure their place in the knockout stages when they face Hungary, who are already through.

In the other Group F fixture, Iceland face Austria with both games kicking-off at 5pm. We’ll have all the action as it happens right here.

Here’s the Hungary team:

….and Portugal:

We’ll also be keeping an eye on Austria against Iceland, with both teams still very much in contention of qualifying.

The Iceland team aiming to make more history is as follows:

While Austria really need to start performing as many predicted before the tournament, starting this evening with this team:

Here is how Group F stands before kick-off:

Who needs what this evening?

A point for Hungary and they are guaranteed a top-two spot, a win means they the top the table. They are qualified no matter whatever happens, however.

A draw for Portugal and they will get a top-three finish, and a place in the last 16 due to their superior goal difference compared to the other third placed teams, as would Iceland who take on Austria.

But Austria must win in order to make get through to the knockout stages.

I promise it will be clearer as the matches progress!

What have you done with your life?

The teams are on the pitch and the national anthems are about to start.

A reminder there are five changes for Hungary, who have one eye on their last 16 tie, while there are two changes for Portugal with Eliseu and Mario coming in.

And we’re off in both games!

Portugal dominating possession of the ball early on, but yet to threaten Kiraly in the Hungary goal.

Hungary more than happy to sit back and let Portugal control the game, already signs of tension within this Portuguese team. Remember Ronaldo hasn’t scored for his country in over a year.

A quarter of an hour gone in both games and we are still waiting for our first goal of the day.

GOAL! Hungary 1-0 Portugal

GOAL! Iceland 1-0 Austria

All action with goals in both games.

A corner from Hungary is half-cleared by Portugal but Zoltan Gera is there at the edge of the box to smash home a superb finish from 25 yards!

Over in the game between Iceland and Austria now – a long throw from Iceland is flicked on in the box that allows Jon Dadi Bodvarsson to finish from close range!

As it stands, both Portugal and Austria will be going home – nobody would have predicted this.

Hungary fighting for every ball and not giving Portugal an inch, even though they are through to the next round.

If they win the group, they will play the team that finishes second in Ireland’s group.

Penalty for Austria!

Missed penalty for Austria who trail Iceland 1-0!

Dragović was the player that missed the penalty – hitting his spot-kick off the post.

If the results stay as they are, Iceland will take on England on Monday night.

That one could be very tasty

GOAL! Hungary 2-1 Portugal

GOAL! Hungary 2-2 Portugal

First the Hungary goal.

Dzsudzsak with a free-kick from 25 yards but the deflection in the wall deceives Rui Patrício in the Portugal goal.

Then the man himself – Cristiano Ronaldo finally gets his name on the scoresheet at the finals – and it’s a peach of a goal.

An audacious back heel from a cross from Portugal’s right wing means the Real Madrid man’s international goal drought is finally over.

GOAL! Hungary 3-2 Portugal

It’s Dzsudzsák again! Hungary’s captain scores his second and Hungary’s third of the game.

Rui Patrício is once again deceived by a deflection as Dzsudzsák shot from range hits off Nani on the edge of the box.

Ronaldo is furious!

A reminder that if Portugal don’t score again they will be going home.

GOAL: Iceland 1-1 Austria

GOAL! Hungary 3-3 Portugal

Ronaldo comes up again when his country needs him the most.

The teams are level for the third time as Ronaldo heads in from close range following a Portugal free-kick. Game on!

Schöpf with the equaliser for Austria as he cuts through the Icelandic defence to score a crucial goal for his side. It’s all happening.

CLOSE! Elek hits the post for Hungary. Anything can happen here.

Both Hungary and Portugal are going for a winner – end-to-end stuff.

You wouldn’t rule out Ronaldo completing his hat-trick right now.

Just over 20 minutes to play in both games.

As it stands Hungary, Portugal and Iceland are into the last 16 with Austria crashing out.

CHANCE! Portugal go close. Nani pings in a ball with his right foot but it’s just too high for Ronaldo, who can’t put the direction required on the ball.

Portugal taking no chances – they continue to hunt for a winner, just lacking the final ball at the minute.

Over in Paris, Austria’s David Alaba goes close with a free-kick from range. They need a winner.

Hungary have settled with what they have now. The blistering pace of the game seems to have taken it’s toll. As it stands, both teams may settle for the draw.
