The Long Walk: a new documentary about the Irish golfers battling to make it as professionals

The two-part documentary begins on Setanta Ireland this week.

AWAY FROM THE big names and big money of the Majors, a new documentary follows the Irish golfers living life in the shadows of professional golf.

The Long Walk, a two-part documentary which starts on Setanta Ireland this week, delves into the world of those journeymen trying to eke out a living on the minor tours.

If the bounces go their way and the putts fall, they can pay the bills for another week and maybe even clinch the Holy Grail: a full European Tour card.

If not, their dream will be dead very quickly.

The documentary follows Mark Murphy, Colm Moriarty, Tim Rice, Brendan McCarroll, Peter O’Keefe, Gareth Shaw and Brendan McGeady, as well as full Tour players Peter Lawrie and David Higgins as they battle to keep their cards for another season.

The first part airs this Wednesday, 16 April, at 10pm. Check out the trailer here:
