FIORENTINA FORWARD STEVAN JOVETIC is set for a medical at Manchester City today before joining the club in a deal estimated to be in the region of €25m.
The Montenegro attacker scored 13 goals in 31 games for the Viola last season and has 10 times in 27 international outings. The 23-year-old first came to the attention of Premier League clubs when he scored both goals in a 2-0 home victory over Liverpool in the Champions League.
Jovetic will join new signing Alvaro Negredo and Sergio Aguero in a new-look City attacking side next season. Mario Balotelli and Carlos Tevez have both swapped Premier League life for moves to Italy’s Serie A.
City, this morning, made an official announcement about Negredo’s signing on the club website. Part of the club statement read, “The Spanish international follows Jesus Navas in making the switch from Sevilla. He will join up with the squad on the pre-season tour, and wear the number 9 shirt.
