MANCHESTER CITY HAVE completed their third signing this week with the capture of Patrick Roberts for a reported £11 million from Fulham.
The 18-year-old is widely regarded as one of the brightest young players in England having impressed for the Championship club following his debut in 2014.
Coincidentally, his first senior appearance was as a second-half substitute against Man City at Craven Cottage.
Fulham manager Kit Symmons last night revealed the England underage international had handed in a transfer request and City confirmed the deal on their Twitter page this morning.
With only one year left on his contract at Fulham, the club had no option but to cash in this summer or else face losing him for nothing in twelve months time.
The attacking prodigy has only made 22 senior appearances but could be loaned back to Fulham this season to aid his development.
It’s being reported that the initial fee will be £5 million with a further £6 million in add-ons.
Roberts becomes the third new arrival at the Ethiad Stadium as Manuel Pellegrini looks to bolster his squad ahead of the new campaign and boost their homegrown player numbers.
