THE MAYO FAN who had to be escorted off by stewards after invading the Gaelic Grounds during August’s All-Ireland semi-final replay, has been given a one-year ban by the GAA.

News of the hefty suspension being handed down has been reported in today’s The Irish Sun newspaper by journalist Gordon Manning.

The incident occurred towards the end of the thrilling extra-time clash which Kerry eventually won by 3-16 to 3-13 to book a place in the September final that they eventually won against Donegal to claim the Sam Maguire.
