Welcome to Croke Park as we get set for this afternoon’s Leinster senior football semi-final action. First up it’s Meath against Wexford at 2pm.

First up let’s bring you up to date on what happened in the world of GAA yesterday.

Here’s the Meath team that has been announced for the game.

MEATH: Paddy O’Rourke; Donal Keoghan, Kevin Reilly (Capt.),Bryan Menton, Padraic Harman, Caoimhin King, Seamus Kenny; Brian Meade, Conor Gillespie, Peadar Byrne , Damien Carroll , Graham Reilly; Eamonn Wallace,  Stephen Bray, Michael Newman.

Meath have made two changes for the match. Padraic Harnan and Seamus Kenny come in in place of Mickey Burke and Ciaran Lenehan after Mick O’Dowd changes the side that defeated Wicklow.

And here’s the Wexford side, unchanged from the victory over Louth.

Dublin and Kildare’s clash may command the central stage today but this encounter is an intriguing one.

We’re set to go with the game underway.

One late pre-match change on the Wexford side as Shane Roche comes into the attack for James Holmes.

Early scoring chances on both sides with PJ Banville striking the upright for Wexford while Graham Reilly shoots wide for Meath.

Robert Tierney is also into the Wexford defence for Lee Chin.

Again Meath are off target with Stephen Bray’s shot going astray after he was fed with a decent delivery.

Foul on Shane Roche and an early scoring chance for Wexford from a free from 20 yards out.

Wexford 0-1 Meath 0-0: 5 mins – Ciaran Lyng duly obliges by shooting high over the crossbar for a Wexford point.

Wexford 0-1 Meath 0-1: 6 mins – Meath quickly draw level courtesy of a point from Michael Newman.

Wexford 0-2 Meath 0-1: 8 mins – Wexford go back in front with Lyng tapping over a pint after great work by Daithi Waters to create the chance. There was a hint of a goal opening there when Lyng got the ball but he was satisfied with raising a white flag.

Wexford 0-2 Meath 0-2: 8 mins – Newman on the mark with another free for Meath after Graham Reilly was hauled down.

Wexford 0-3 Meath 0-2: 10 mins – Terrific point from 45 yards by Ben Brosnan edges Wexford back in front.

Wexford 0-4 Meath 0-2: 11 mins – Donal Keoghan fouls the ball in the Meath defence and Lyng converts the resultant free for Wexford.

Wexford 0-4 Meath 0-3: 12 mins – Peadar Byrne points for Meath after Newman scythed through the Wexford defence.

It’s been an open and entertaining contest so far here in Croke Park.

Brian Malone shoots wide for Wexford. They still lead by 0-4 to 0-3 with 17 minutes gone.

Great chance for Meath to draw level but Stephen Bray fists a point effort wide.

Wexford 0-5 Meath 0-3: 21 mins – Ben Brosnan on target from a free for Wexford after Redmond Barry was fouled. Brosnan converted from 45 yards out to send his side two points clear.

Wexford 0-6 Meath 0-3: 22 mins – Lovely play from Wexford as Daithi Waters soars high to catch a kick out and sets in motion a move involving David Murphy and PJ Banville. It culminates in wing-back Adrian Flynn getting forward and he steps onto his left to curl over a stylish point.

Wexford 0-6 Meath 0-4: 23 mins – Meath hit back courtesy of a Stephen Bray point off his right.

Wexford 0-7 Meath 0-4: 25 mins – Moments after he fired wide, PJ Banville holds his head to boot over a point for Wexford.

Wexford 0-8 Meath 0-4: 26 mins – Meath’s defence looks to be in trouble here as Wexford pour forward. Brian Malone with their latest point from wing-back as he found huge room in the Royals rearguard.

Wexford 0-8 Meath 0-5: 28 mins – Important point for Meath from Graham Reilly as they try to stay in touch.

Wexford 0-8 Meath 0-6: 31 mins – Another point for Meath, this time from speedster Eamonn Wallace. They look in trouble in defence but are still hanging in there and are only two points adrift.

Wexford have brought on Conor Carty as a blood substitute for Graeme Molloy.

Wexford 0-8 Meath 0-7: 33 mins – Meath’s third point in succession arrives from Peadar Byrne as they avail of a poor cross field ball by PJ Banville that is intercepted.

Molloy is back on in the Wexford defence for Carty.

There’ll be two minutes of injury-time to be played.

Brosnan off target with a free to extend Wexford’s advantage.

Half-Time: Wexford 0-8 Meath 0-7: That’s how it stands at the break with Wexford enjoying a one-point lead.

We’re back underway for the second-half here in Croke Park.

Wexford 0-9 Meath 0-7: 36 mins – Ben Brosnan gets the ball rolling by converting a free for Wexford.

Wexford 0-10 Meath 0-8: 37 mins – Brian Malone gallops through for a point for Wexford but Graham Reilly replies with a score that goes over off the upright for Meath.

Meath have made a substitution with Ciaran Lenehan coming on for Caoimhin King.

Wexford 0-10 Meath 0-9: 43 mins – The gap is down to one courtesy of Michael Newman free for Meath.

Wexford 0-10 Meath 0-10: 45 mins – Now we’re level as Newman sweeps over another free for Meath.

Meath 0-11 Wexford 0-10: 48 mins – Meath hit the front courtesy of a point from Newman, again from a free after he was fouled.

Meath have brought on Joe Sheridan to replace Eamonn Wallace in their attack.

Meath 0-12 Wexford 0-10: 50 mins – Graham Reilly hooks over a neat point for Meath to send them two clear yet they had a chance for a goal there as an overlap was created.

Meath bring on Paddy Gilsenan for Peadar Byrne.

Newman misses a chance to stretch Meath’s lead as he fires a free wide.

Meath 0-12 Wexford 0-11: 53 mins – Important point for Wexford as Red Barry lashes over a left-footed shot after great work by PJ Banville.

Two changes for Wexford with Paddy Byrne on for Shane Roche while James Holmes replaces Aindreas Doyle.

Newman wide with another Meath free.

It’s tight and tense here with one point separating the teams and 12 minutes remaining. Meath have shored up their defence far better in this second-half.

Meath bring on Andrew Tormey for Brian Meade while Wexford take off PJ Banville and bring on Kevin Gore.

Meath 0-13 Wexford 0-12: 61 mins – Superb work by Ciaran Lyng to work his way through the defence as he exchanged passes with PJ Banville and James Holmes before firing in a shot under pressure that was tipped over the bar by Paddy O’Rourke.

Meath 0-15 Wexford 0-12: 62 mins – Mickey Newman’s freetaking cannot be faulted as he fires over a bother shot between the posts and Graham Reilly follows that up with his fourth point from play. Meath are three points clear.

Meath 0-15 Wexford 0-13: 64 mins – Lyng keeps Wexford in the hunt with a free.

Meath 0-16 Wexford 0-13: 65 mins – Stephen Bray works his way in from the right, shrugs off the challenge of Michael Furlong and kicks a fine point with his left foot for Meath.

Conor Carty replaces Rory Quinlivan for Wexford.

Ciaran Lyng mishits a free and the ball drops short into the arms of goalkeeper Paddy O’Rourke.

Two minutes of injury time to be played here.

Meath bring on Bryan McMahon for Graham Reilly, who has been excellent today.

Meath 0-18 Wexford 0-13: 71 mins – That should be that as Newman kicks over yet another free for Meath.

Full-Time: Meath 0-18 Wexford 0-13: And that’s it, Meath run out victors by five points.

Meath are back in the Leinster senior football final for the second successive year. Wexford suffer defeat at the semi-final stage in Leinster for the second year in a row.
