JOSE MOURINHO HAS played down rumours he is set to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.
Speculation mounted this week that Mourinho was planning to call time on his three-year stay at the club but the Portuguese insists a decision has yet to be made.
“I’m not unhappy at Real Madrid. We need to make the decision that’s best for everyone,” he said.
“I may like some things and dislike others but this happens everywhere. There’s no such thing as the perfect club or the perfect manager.”
The former Chelsea boss, who has been linked with a return to England, claims the focus for Real is not his future but competing for trophies.
“When the moment comes we will get to a conclusion which will be right for everyone, I’m sure of that,” he added.
“Now, the best for us all is to win the Copa del Rey and stay alive in the Champions League, to reach the final.“Let’s focus on this for the moment, we will have the time to discuss my future when the proper time arrives.”
Madrid host Real Betis at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday and Mourinho confirmed that long-serving goalkeeper Iker Casillas would remain on the bench.
“Diego will play, although Casillas is in perfect condition for playing and it won’t be a surprise the day he plays as he is ready,” said Mourinho.
“It’s perfect for me and the team, we have two great goalies, and two more that are also good.”
Mourinho also confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo would be involved with the squad but Xabi Alonso, Sami Khedira and Sergio Ramos are all unavailable.
