New signings set to start for Munster at weekend

James Downey, Sean Dougall and Casey Laulala are all set to make their first competitive appearance for the province.

NEW SIGNINGS JAMES Downey, Sean Dougall and Casey Laulala have all been named in the Munster team to face Edinburgh in the RaboDirect PRO12 at the weekend.

Meanwhile, another inexperienced player, Barry O’Mahony, is named on the bench, while Doug Howlett captains the team for the first time in a competitive fixture.

The game takes place at 8pm on Saturday in Murrayfield.

Munster side to face Edinburgh:

D Hurley; D Howlett (capt), C Laulala, J Downey, L O’Dea; I Keatley, D Williams; W du Preez, D Varley, BJ Botha; D O’Callaghan, B Holland; P Butler, S Dougall, J Coughlan.

Replacements: M Sherry, M Horan, S Archer, D Foley, B O’Mahony, P Stringer, S Deasy, I Dineen.

    Best of luck to him. Hope he’ll be an addition to his county. He was very loyal to Connacht and didn’t snub them when Harlequins let him go.

    Met him once in Dublin after a Mayo game and you could tell he was very passionate about Mayo football. I have no doubt he will be a great addition to the team in what ever capacity. Don’t forget there were plenty off offers from other rugby teams so he hasn’t taken this decision likely.
