150 MEMBERS OF the Kilbeacanty hurling club in Galway will cycle from Ennis to Gort tomorrow as part of ‘Cycle Against Suicide’ and in memory of the late Niall Donohue.
Last October, Galway hurler Donohue took his own life and he will be honoured tomorrow by members of his club.
‘Cycle Against Suicide’ is a suicide awareness event that began last Monday and finishes on Sunday May 11th. The cycle started in Dublin and tomorrow’s stage starts at Ennis at 10.45am and finishes in Tuam.

The Kilbeacanty club members will be cycling from Ennis to Gort before then finishing at their club grounds nearby.
The main objective of the cycle is to raise awareness of the considerable help and supports that are available for anyone battling depression, self harm, at risk of suicide or those bereaved by suicide.
Donohue’s death last October rocked the GAA community. The 22 year-old was an All-Ireland U21 hurling winner with Galway in 2011 before playing on the Tribesmen senior team that lost the 2012 All-Ireland senior final to Kilkenny after a replay.
