Panic and nausea abates as Fantasy Premier League apologises for technical issues

The Fantasy Premier League has vowed to make amends to users affected by the weekend’s technical issues, letting those who chose Paddy Kenny in goal off the hook.

THE FANTASY PREMIER League has issued an apology to users who experienced problems in using their service during the first weekend of the new season.

Nations across the world were in uproar as football enthusiasts were unable to register their teams or even log in prior to the start of Gameweek 1, causing Parliaments to be recalled throughout Europe and Sky Sports News anchor Jim White* to go completely silent.

The team behind the website have promised to make amends for the lapse, while working on the site to ensure that Gameweeks 2 through to 38 go smoothly. They insist that the problems experienced this weekend were an ‘isolated case’ and have announced the following on the official Premier League website:

  • No points will be deducted for any transfers you make up to the Gameweek 2 deadline.
  • If you’ve set up a league, you can opt to start the scoring from Gameweek 2. As this reporter amassed a trifling 46 points from his first weekend, that seems the way to go.
  • You can win tickets to Manchester United v Chelsea. Nice.
  • There is a monthly prize of an iPad2.

*We jest. Nothing could shut that man up.
