INJURED LIONEL MESSI came off the bench to save Barcelona and see the Spanish giants through to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Still suffering from a hamstring strain, the world’s best footballer joined the action with his side trailing Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 just after the hour mark.
And it was Messi who was at the heart of Barca’s equaliser, crafting the chance for Pedro to score and send the four-time champions through on away goals after a 3-3 draw on aggregate.
Javier Pastore scored early in the second half to give Carlo Ancelotti’s visitors the lead and leave Barca on the brink of an exit.
Pedro equalised in the 71st minute, booking Barcelona’s place in the final four alongside La Liga rivals Real Madrid and German duo Borussia Dormund and Bayern Munich — who progressed with a 2-0 win away to Juventus.
