PAUL MCSHANE WAS the hero as Reading beat Wolves 2-1 in the Championship today.

The Irish defender’s 78th minute header handed the Royals a victory that consolidated fifth spot in the table and leaves them trailing Leeds in fourth by just a point.

Meanwhile, Aiden McGeady continued his fine form with another assist for Tom Barkhuizen’s goal, but it could not prevent Preston being beaten 3-1 by Fulham.
