Bohemians captain one of 3 more players to commit to the club for next season

Keith Long is making good progress as he puts plans in place for the 2018 campaign at Dalymount Park.

THE CURRENT SEASON isn’t over just yet but Bohemians are already working hard with a view to having a successful 2018.

Having announced new contracts for goalkeeper Shane Supple and defender Rob Cornwall yesterday, the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division side have today confirmed that Derek Pender, Paddy Kavanagh and Dan Byrne will remain at Dalymount Park next year.

The new contracts represent further good news for Keith Long’s team, who will finish this season in the top half of the table after gradually pulling themselves clear of the relegation battle.

Pender, the club’s captain, has already spent six seasons with Bohs. The 33-year-old right-back joined from St Patrick’s Athletic in 2012.

Byrne, a 24-year-old defender, came through the U19 side at Bohs in 2011, while 31-year-old winger Kavanagh is coming to the end of his fourth season with the club.

The Gypsies, who end their season by hosting Finn Harps tomorrow night, now have eight players signed up for next season. In August they announced new contracts for Warren O’Hora, Oscar Brennan and Fuad Sule.
