Cesc Fabregas has missed out, however. What do you make of the selections?

CHELSEA ARE REPRESENTED by six players in the Premier League PFA Team of the Year.

Defensive trio John Terry, Gary Cahill and Branislav Ivanovic are joined by midfielder Nemanja Matic, favourite for the PFA Player of the Year award Eden Hazard and centre forward Diego Costa for the league leaders but Cesc Fabregas misses out.

Meanwhile, Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, Southampton and Tottenham all have one player in the line-up, which was announced this afternoon.

Last season’s champions Manchester City do not feature, however.

The PFA Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year will both be named at tonight’s awards ceremony at Grosvenor House in London.

Great to have him on board. Hopefully the Irish management will discover the other two provinces when they are looking at emerging players. Why has Nathan Doak not gotten a look in? I have never seen him play badly and he seems to be the logical replacement for Conor Murray, long term.

@PatN: the panic for 10s has him tossed about the half backs. Would have had him in by now tbh, the ability to switch from attack to defense and use Murray/Doak as an extra back-rower is useful.

@PatN: I don’t get the Doak hype at all. I always feel that if he was even half as good as his strut suggets he thinks he is, he’d be first choice by now. He’s not been helped by the attempt to make him a ten, but he’s decidedly average. To be honest, I don’t even get how he gets into the Ulster team ahead of Shanahan. And for Ireland I’d easily have any of the three Connacht scrum halves in ahead of him (as a Leinster fan).

@PatN: I remember watching doak at u20 level and thinking that he was far better than anyone else on the pitch, however I dont think he has kicked on. Not helped by playing behind an average pack of forwards (I’m a munster fan and I think we have an bang average pack aswell) and sub standard 10s. I just don’t see him forcing his way into the irish set up. However another 9 that I think could make the irish team in the future is Matthew Devine. I know he has to work on his kicking and passing but he is lethal around the breakdown with his speed and stepping. He is the kind of player who can create a moment of magic out of nothing, something that this irish team is lacking

What has Munsters ‘athletic performance’ been like 2019–Present?

Alex is fondly remembered from his time with Munster. A great acquisition for Ireland and vastly experienced.
