Poll: Are you happy with Trap's 23?

Did Giovanni Trapattoni’s list have something for everyone, or was it another crushing disappointment?

SO THERE YOU have it.

A whole lot speculation and bluster was blown away by two simple tweets from the FAI.

We were all huddled round the computer screen waiting for Giovanni Trapattoni to unfurl the sheet of paper like it was some ancient scripture and reel off the names of the chosen few.

Instead, Twitter jumped the gun.

Three goalkeepers, seven defenders, four central midfielders, four wingers and five strikers. Phew!

James McClean made it in, as did Stephen Hunt, but no sign of consistent Premier League performers like Ciaran Clark or Wes Hoolahan.

So, what do you think of our squad for this summer’s European Championship (we’ve waited 24 years to say that sentence)? Did the eventual unveiling of the 23 names bring relief? Or despair?

Poll Results:

Relief, I'm happy with that. Hard to argue (extensively) with any of the calls. (246)
Paul Green is on standby, fingers crossed we don't need him. (62)
It's all wrong, where's Ciaran Clark and Wes Hoolahan? (47)
It's all wrong, where's Ian Harte and Anthony Stokes? (13)
