Liverpool ready to reject Real's fresh Luis Suarez bid

The La Liga giants are expecting a bid for Karim Benzema from Arsenal.

LIVERPOOL MANAGER Brendan Rodgers will refuse to sell Luis Suarez despite reported interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid.

Madrid could receive £40million from Arsenal for French striker Karim Benzema which they could then use to prise Suarez away from Anfield.

But Liverpool are adamant that Suarez will not be sold because they have no time to find a replacement for the Uruguay international before the transfer window closes on 2 September.

“If we lose Luis at this stage… there might have been a point a few months ago where there was time to do it, but with 11 days to go it would be difficult to replace him,” Rodgers said yesterday.

“I’m sure there will be plenty of activity in this last number of days (of the transfer window).

“It is what it is and we will deal with it like we have during the summer.”

Liverpool say there have been no further bids for Suarez since Arsenal’s £40,000,001 bid was immediately rejected.

Even if Suarez attempts to force a move away from the club, American owner John Henry is expected to stand firm on his decision to not negotiate during this transfer window.
