It was a day to remember for Steve Ladgrove from Melbourne for all the wrong reasons.

AN ASTON VILLA fan’s tweet went viral today, after the club fell to an embarrassing 6-0 home defeat to Liverpool.

Steve Ladgrove from Melbourne made a 25-hour flight to watch Villa play for just the second time ever, and expressed excitement ahead of the game, with the club’s official account retweeting him.

Unfortunately, the journey didn’t go exactly as planned, with goals from Daniel Sturridge, James Milner, Emre Can, Divock Origi, Nathaniel Clyne and Kolo Toure heaping the misery on Remi Garde’s beleaguered side.

But despite the disappointing result, Steve appeared to take his newfound internet fame quite well…
