Roger Federer defies the laws of physics with freak shot

Maybe not quite, but that’s some spin all the same

ROGER FEDERER IS trying out a new racquet at the Brisbane International and if it keeps producing freak shots like the one below, he’ll definitely stick with it.

The Swiss former world number one and his playing partner Nicolas Mahut beat Jeremy Chardy and Grigor Dimitrov in the quarter-finals of the doubles competition thanks, in part, to this shot:

The 32-year old was also successful in the singles, seeing off Jarkko Nieminen in straight sets at the event.
