WE’VE BEEN LUCKY enough to experience a mini heatwave across Ireland this week and we suggest you follow these steps in order to participate in (and spectate on) sport in the safest way.
1. Get yourself acclimatised
If you know you’re playing in extreme heat, we propose a training camp to get used to the temperatures.

2. Stay hydrated
3. And make sure others around you do the same

4. You will need to apply plenty of suncream
... as you don't want to get sunburn
5. Wear appropriate clothing
6. A good hat is important
7. Cool off regularly
8. You're bound to sweat a lot so a can of anti-persistent will come in handy
10. Ice creams are not essential... but always taste good
