The Dublin side went down a goal when IBV Vestmannaeyjar scored in the second half.

ST PATRICK’S ATHLETIC have lost 1-0 away to IBV Vestmannaeyjar in Iceland this evening, in the team’s first UEFA Europa League qualifying round match.

St Pat’s boss Pete Mahon had expressed confidence in his side ahead of the game, however the Icelandic team scored early in the second half from the penalty spot, according to Sports News Ireland.

Despite earlier injury fears, Stephen Bradley, Danny North and David Mulcahy were all declared fit to play and took part this evening.
