The Dortmund chairman locked himself in the toilet for last night's Champions League drama

Squeaky bum time?

BORUSSIA DORTMUND’S CHAMPIONS League semi-final against Real Madrid was so tense that the club’s chairman literally couldn’t bear to watch it.

So he locked himself in the toilet instead.

Leading 4-1 from the first leg, Dortmund appeared to be sailing through to the Wembley final as last night’s game entered its final minutes.

But late goals from Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos pegged the Bundesliga side back to 4-3 and left Madrid a goal away from a remarkable European upset.

“It seems like we only can do it with drama,” chairman Hans-Joachim Watzke told the club’s website today.

“For the first time in my life I had to give up due to heart problems. I went to the toilet for the last minutes, locked myself in, covered my ears and looked at my watch. I had all kinds of thoughts going through my head.”

Barring similar drama in tonight’s second semi-final Dortmund will face Bayern Munich, who lead Barcelona 4-0, in the final on 25 May.
