The Morning Score: Thursday

India book their place in the Cricket World Cup Final, the USPGA heads to Houston, and we sneak a peek at the weekly YouTube chart.

1. #REF ROW The GAA have denied that referee Pat Fox was deliberately sidelined by the CCCC for failing to upgrade Ryan McMenamin’s yellow card on review.

“It’s utterly coincidental that Pat Fox hasn’t refereed since then,” said the GAA’s national match officials manager Pat Doherty yesterday.

2. #OPENING DRIVE The USPGA tour makes its final pre-Augusta stop this weekend as the players take to the course for the Shell Houston Open.

With both Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy conducting their final preparations elsewhere, Padraig Harrington will be the only Irishman in action. He tees off at approximately 18:50 Irish time this evening.

3. #CWC Hosts India booked their place in Saturday’s Cricket World Cup final yesterday evening, beating rivals Pakistan by 29 runs in a tense encounter in Mohali.

They will now face Sri Lanka who booked their place in the tournament decided with victory over New Zealand on Tuesday.

4. #PRICEWATCH The FAI have announced that they will not be “bundling” tickets for the remainder of the Republic of Ireland’s home games in 2011, selling tickets for the games against Northern Ireland, Scotland, Slovakia and Armenia on an individual basis.

We thrashed out the pros and cons of the ticket price debate yesterday afternoon. Have a read of our thoughts here.

5. #FIGHT CLUB We caught up with Katie Taylor the other day as she launched a new Lucozade ad campaign.

She had a few interesting things to say about the “corrupt” scoring practices used in amateur boxing. Read more of Katie’s thoughts here.

6. #YOUTUBE On Tuesday, we brought you the story of the Colombian football fans who brought their friend’s corpse to see his local football team play.

The video footage will probably sneak its way into our weekly YouTube chart which will be appearing in its regular slot later on this morning.
