behind enemy lines

This poor distraught Cork fan stood out like a sore thumb in Limerick

We’re sure he didn’t suffer any slagging at all in that get-up.

IT’S NOT EASY being a Cork fan.

You get yourself all dressed up for the Munster final. You place your good red stetson atop your head and take the lonely walk into a stand full of Limerick fans with hunger on their side.

You expect to win, because you’re from Cork, but when Limerick stride out to a 024 to 0-15 win, you can only try to hide.

There was no place to hide for any Corkman in the Gaelic Grounds today, however.

Still, when it came time to hoist the trophy, the distraught fan couldn’t help but stretch his neck to try and get a glimpse of the silverware craved by the Rebels.
