THE NFC WEST may not be pretty but, given the hole they’ve put themselves in by surrendering a host of fourth quarter leads this season, the Seattle Seahawks (3-4) sure needed last night’s 20-3 divisional victory over the San Francisco 49ers (2-5).
While still far from the team that reached back-to-back Super Bowls, the Seahawks showed glimpses of what has made them such a threat on both sides of the football over the past three years.
Marshawn Lynch ran for 122 yards and a score while Russell Wilson nailed a 43-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Lockett late in the first half to help his team record their fourth straight victory in this rivalry.
The Seattle defence limited the 49ers to just 142 total yards though they were helped by errant throws like this from Colin Kaepernick.
