HERE ARE THE good, the bad, and the unlikely football moves being talked about today…
Stunning transfer news today sees Kylian Mbappé linked with a remarkable €179 million move to PSG.
A week after breaking the transfer record with the €222 million acquisition of Neymar, PSG could bring their summer spending to over €400 million should they complete a shock move for the 18-year-old.
Meanwhile Zlatan Ibrahimovic could be set to rejoin AC Milan following a five year absence from San Siro.
The former PSG and Manchester United striker is currently a free agent and is recovering from a knee injury ahead of a return to action in five months.
Corriere dello Sport claim that the Swede would lead the Rossoneri’s frontline when he returns in early 2018, however a much cheaper alternative in Nikola Kalinic seems more likely.
Elsewhere Jose Mourinho is planning a move for disgruntled Tottenham defender Danny Rose, according to the Manchester Evening News.
United are targeting at least one more signing this summer, with the club also heavily linked with Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
The Spurs defender just this week said he would consider offers to depart White Hart Lane, with a swap move for Luke Shaw between the sides also reported by Metro.
Finally, Newcastle have completed a loan deal for Chelsea’s Kenedy.
The 21-year-old caused controversy following a set of offensive Instagram posts during Chelsea’s pre-season tour of Asia.
The player was sent out on loan to Watford last season and will look to find a clean slate under Rafael Benitez at St James’ Park in 2017/18.
Retro Deal of the Day: Carlos Tevez to Manchester United
On this day in 2007 Carlos Tevez joined Manchester United from West Ham United.
The player’s move was controversial and was referred to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, with United paying £2 million to MSI Group Limited to bring the player to Old Trafford on an initial loan deal.
Tevez won the Premier League and Uefa Champions League during his first season at United, scoring 19 goals in 48 games across all competitions.
Spending just one more season at United, he scored 15 more goals before causing even more controversy by joining rivals Manchester City ahead of the 2009/10 season.
