THERE WOULD APPEAR to be the beginning stages of a trend occurring (particularly in Portuguese speaking countries) whereby the footballer realises that being sent off is not all bad.
For a start there is the early bath, plenty of hot water and nobody stealing your fancy facial scrub. Then there’s the a rare opportunity for a rest and a quick tweet while you watch the closing stages of the game with your feet up.
Yesterday, we saw a Porto player get red carded and start the title celebrations early. Today, we have Tobi doing a moonwalk, just to make sure the referee can clearly see the number six on his jersey as he receives a yellow.
