THE LAST TIME Notre Dame had an undefeated season, 1988, most of their current team would have been in kindergarten.
However, following their first undefeated season in 24 years, one that started with a win over arch-rivals Navy in Dublin, the Fighting Irish will play for the BCS National Championship on Monday, January 7.
Their opponents in college football’s equivalent to the Super Bowl will be Alabama; the defending champions and favourites for the title.
