WATCH: Five sent off after Bradford v Crawley Town brawl

Both sets of players came to blows when the final whistle went at Valley Parade last night.

AN NPOWER LEAGUE Two game descended into a mass punch-up last night.

High-flying Crawley Town beat Bradford City 2-1 at Valley Parade but at the final whistle a full-blown brawl between several players broke out, forcing referee Ian Williamson to go back into the dressing rooms post-match and sending off five players.

Bradford’s Andrew Davies, Luke Oliver and goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin, who is clearly seen throwing a fist at an opponent, were all red carded as were Pablo Mills and Claude Davis from Crawley.

Red Devils boss Steve Evans played down the incident, telling the BBC: “I think it was handbags, with a lot of pushing and shoving, but it was disappointing to see.”

The referee seems very clear in his mind what went on and that is the reason he took the action he did in the dressing rooms,” added Bradford manager Phil Parkinson.

“Until I see the DVD it is difficult to comment but the sendings-off leave us with lots of problems, to say the least.”
