Wenger fires Ramsey warning: Focus on helping the team... not just scoring

The Frenchman is hoping for more from his key midfielder, who has struggled to repeat his form of last season.

ARSENAL BOSS Arsene Wenger has told midfielder Aaron Ramsey there is more to his role than simply scoring goals and demanded the Wales international keeps his “priorities right”.

Ramsey has forged a reputation as a goalscoring midfielder, netting 18 times in 38 appearances in all competitions last season.

The 23-year-old has not been as prolific this term — managing just three goals in 15 games — and Wenger believes it is time for a re-think.

The Frenchman told reporters: “He has to keep his priorities right. He needs to help the team. It’s not about goalscoring.”
