'The little man, Hoolahan, was the best player on the pitch' - Jamie Redknapp

Watch out Greece. Keep watching Trapattoni.

IRELAND MANAGER GIOVANNI TRAPATTONI was at Carrow Road last weekend to see Wes Hoolahan mastermind a 1-0 victory over Arsenal.

With the Italian in Stoke to watch Marc Wilson and Jon Walters this afternoon, we hope someone recorded Norwich’s 1-1 draw with Aston Villa match on Sky + for him.

Hoolahan was, once again, the best player on show as he constantly probed the Villa defence, tested Brad Guzan twice and set up Michael Turner’s equaliser.

The former Shelbourne midfielder’s performance drew praise from Jamie Redknapp and Dwight Yorke in the Sky Sports studio at Villa Park. Redknapp commented:

I thought that the little man, Hoolahan there, was the best player on the pitch”

Yorke added, “I like the look of this kid … he should have topped it off with a goal. His decision making was spot on.”

Speaking after the match, Hoolahan said, “They were two good saves from the ‘keeper but I scored have scored one.

“We dominated, created a lot of chances and should have got the three points.”

Trapattoni will name his squad for the upcoming friendly against Greece.
