DONEGAL MIDDLEWEIGHT WILLIE McLaughlin will be in action when the World Series of Boxing semi-finals get underway in Italy later this evening.
McLaughlin, who has won one and lost one of his bouts in the competition this season, meets former Ukranian national champion Ievgenii Barabanov. The bout is third on a five-fight card which is due to begin at 8pm BST at the Casino Campione.
McLaughlin’s Italia Thunder team are the defending WSB champions but Barabanov and the Ukrainian Ottomans will be hoping to gain an advantage ahead of next week’s second leg.
Later tonight, the second semi-final between the Mexico Guerreros and the Astana Arlans takes place in Mexico.
