GALWAY’S CATHAL MANNION will likely be viewed as the leading contender in this one. The 20-year-old from Ahascragh hit 3-15 in his five championship outings, including a very impressive hat-trick against Dublin.
The other Tribesman nominated is Jason Flynn. The Woodford corner-forward has helped ease the scoring burden on the shoulders of Joe Canning and helped Galway to the All-Ireland final, where they lost out to Kilkenny by four points.
The other nominee is Waterford’s Tadhg de Búrca, often used in a sweeper role throughout this season by Derek McGrath in a year that saw them lose the Munster final to Tipperary, before beating the Dubs in the quarter-final and losing to the Cats in the final four.
The award will be voted on by the inter-county playing body over the coming weeks, with the winner announced at the Opel All-Stars banquet on November 6.
So who do you think will be the 2015 Young Hurler of the Year?
