Zidane to assist Mourhino at Real

It’s expected Zidane will assist in attracting players to the Bernabau along with other tasks.

Zinedine Zidane  has today been revealed as Real Madrid’s new Director of Football for the first team.

The ex-French midfielder had been working with Real’s President Florentino Perez as a special adviser, now assumes the new role which will see him work closely with Madrid boss Jose Mourhino. Zizou, The Bernabau legend,  at a press conference earlier today said the former Chelsea boss “influenced the decision.”

The role of director of football is for one year and it’s expected Zidane will assist in attracting players to the Bernabau along with other tasks.

The 39-year-old, World Cup winner with France, won only one league and one Champions League with Madrid. He won the FIFA world player of the year three times, a record he holds with Brazil’s Ronaldo.
