Four GAA stadiums to host Garth Brooks concerts next summer

Fixtures could potentially be impacted, with dates announced in Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick and Cork.

FOUR GAA STADIUMS will host Garth Brooks concerts next summer after the US country star announced his return to Ireland for 10 concerts.

Brooks will play two nights each in Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick and Cork – as well as Belfast, with no dates in Dublin – during May and June 2027.

The full dates are:

  • Belfast, Boucher Road: Friday 21 and Saturday 22 May
  • Galway, Pearse Stadium: Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 May
  • Kilkenny, UPMC Nowlan Park: Friday 4 and Saturday 5 June
  • Limerick, TUS Gaelic Grounds: Friday 11 and Saturday 12 June
  • Cork, SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh: Friday 18 and Saturday 19 June

GAA fixtures could potentially be impacted as a result. The weekend of 29-30 May at Galway’s Pearse Stadium presents the first possible clash.

Football is more likely to be affected. That is provisionally a free weekend in the Leinster hurling championship, while both hurling round-robin campaigns should be run off by the Cork, Kilkenny and Limerick concerts in June.

The competitions get underway on the weekend of 17-18 April, with the Munster final provisionally scheduled for 5 June, and the Leinster decider – generally hosted in Croke Park – the following day on 6 June.

The All-Ireland football championship may be impacted depending on how fixtures unfold after the draw.

Cork GAA have released a statement on the prospect of a fixture clash with the Páirc Uí Chaoimh concerts on the weekend of 18-19 June.

“In the event of Cork Senior Footballers having a home game in Round 3 of the Sam Maguire All-Ireland Football Championship on the same weekend (likelihood 25%), this game would be played in Páirc Uí Rinn with the agreement of the County Management Committee, Stadium Board and the Senior Football Management.”

Brooks last performed in Ireland in September 2022, when he played five sold-out concerts at Croke Park.

“This has been a dream of mine since the first time we played Ireland. Once you get a taste of how the Irish love music, you can’t play there enough!” Brooks said.

Tickets for all dates go on sale through Ticketmaster at 8am on Thursday 12 November.
