Everton give £200k to help young Sunderland fan pay for cancer treatment

Toffees’ boost helps Bradley Lowery near his £700k fundraising target.

EVERTON HAVE DONATED £200,000 to help a young Sunderland fan in his fight against cancer.

Five-year-old Bradley Lowery was the mascot at Monday night’s Premier League match, which Everton won 3-0 thanks to a quick-fire Romelu Lukaku hattrick.

After the win, the Toffees gave Bradley’s fundraising appeal a huge boost towards the £700,000 which he needs for life-saving treatment.

“We wish Bradley every success and he has the love and support of every Evertonian,” they said.

“The club will also be inviting Bradley and his family to the return game at Goodison Park and the players’ signed shirts from tonight’s game will be auctioned off to support the fund.”

Bradley was re-diagnosed with neuroblastoma and his family are now trying to raise funds for treatment in America.

“Wow, what an amazing night,” a message on his fundraising Twitter page read.

“Thank you Sunderland AFC for the hospitality and awareness and thank you Everton for donating £200,000 #amazing”
