GARETH BALE HAS extended his contract at Real Madrid until 2022.
The Wales international joined the Spanish giants from Tottenham in 2013 for a then-world record fee of £85.3million.
The six year extension ends speculation over the 27-year-old’s future, including persistent reports of a possible move to Manchester United.
Teammates Luka Modric and Toni Kroos also renewed their contracts earlier this month.
“Real Madrid CF and Gareth Bale have agreed to the extension of the player’s contract, which ties him to the club until June 30, 2022,” a club statement read.
The Spanish club confirmed that he will speak to the media on Monday afternoon.
