TOMMY BOWE COULD be set for another lengthy spell on the sidelines after his latest injury.

The 31-year-old winger was stretchered off with possible knee ligament damage during the first half of Ireland’s World Cup quarter-final loss at the hands of Argentina last Sunday.

Ulster, who meet Cardiff Blues at Kingpan Stadium in the PRO12 tonight, have told The42 that they won’t be issuing an update on the extent of the injury until Monday, but The Belfast Telegraph are reporting that he may be out for as long as six to nine months.

That could see Monaghan native Bowe, who has had rotten luck with his fitness in recent years, miss Ireland’s Six Nations defence and the remainder of the season.
